The Bergen Choir sings chamber music from different periods of music history. From the Renaissance to the present, from known and familiar to unknown and new.
Every year we study a new program that is carried out once or twice a year. There is not only attention for the music, but also for singing technique, appearance and voice formation.
We are an association with 20-25 members, a board and an annual GMM. In addition to singing, there is also room for socializing, especially during our annual dinner and the annual workshop
We rehearse every Thursday evening from 20:00-22:00 in De Nieuwe Beuk, behind the Petrus en Pauluskerk, in the middle of the village.
Our season runs from September to April. We perform the rehearsed repertoire in the Ruïnekerk in Bergen and often also at another location.
A few times per season there is an extra rehearsal on Saturday afternoon. In addition, once a year a workshop is given by a guest teacher, where a different technical singing subject is always discussed.
For the coming season, our conductor has been inspired by the extensive cycle of novels by Marcel Proust 'A la recherche du temps perdu', a French work written between 1908 and 1922.
'In search of lost time' will be a program with repertoire by French composers with an emphasis on memory, youth, love and the future.
Feel free to come and have a look or sing along with us without obligation.
